Project Management Strategies
Our team’s project management strategies included consistency, simplicity, and open communication.

Consistency
Our team decided early on that we would like to have consistent weekly meetings to ensure that all milestones and assignments for the project were on track and completed. We chose a time that was available for all team members and respected everyone’s busy schedules. With three members of the team working full-time jobs in addition to taking graduate level coursework, it was very important that we be respectful of each other's busy schedules and available time.

Simplicity
While our team considered the use of project management software, we ultimately decided that keeping our tasks and communication as simple as possible would be the best strategy for us. We utilized simple Google Calendar invites for Zoom meetings, Google docs to establish tasks and a place to work, Slack messages to keep in contact with one another, and a text group for reminders and emergencies/urgent work.

Open Communication
The project manager led the meetings, but as a group we believed in a process of open communication and fairness when considering who would complete which tasks. We often had conversations with one another ensuring that the workload was very balanced and that everyone felt that the work was equally distributed and fair. We also encouraged team members to share when they were struggling with their work so that other team members could jump in and help as needed. This was an effective process that made the work flow smoothly and successfully.
