Learners will be able to identify misinformation/scams/conspiracy theories on a variety of platforms used in daily life.

When reading a news article, learners will independently determine its credibility with 80% accuracy.

When presented with two pieces of information related to current events, learners will determine which piece is credible via comparing characteristics with 80% accuracy.

Learners will examine various health information sites and evaluate their trustworthiness based on presentation of information, author, and reputation of source.

After exposure to misleading/fake news, learners will be able to identify the author’s (or group’s) purpose and/or goal of the misinformation.
Learners will be able to identify phishing emails and avoid falling victim to common scams associated with phishing emails.

After receiving explicit instruction related to common characteristics of phishing emails, learners will list at least two characteristics of phishing emails.

After exposure to phishing emails, learners will be able to identify commonly targeted pieces of personal information
​ Learners will be able to curate a list of credible and accurate information/news sources that they can readily access and distribute this information to peers, friends, and family members.
